Hi ,

I was just like you--I couldn't keep it off because I didn't make a lifestyle change--I would just diet and go back to my old habits. And you are 100% right this is your tool and you will use it wisely and you will be able to keep it off. It is going to be a lifestyle change. I never say I am on a diet, but I have changed my entire life by how and what I eat. You will be so thrilled when you get to start using your tool to let you achieve where you want to go and stay there. Remember the 1st month is the hardest and after that it just keeps getting better.

Take care,

Suzanne

about going outside of the US to have it because people are always talking bad

Because I did a little research, also knew a nurse who had already been there and totally trusted her opinion of the facility and the surgery she had. You have to educate yourself. Listen to what the people on this site have to say. We are NOT paid people who come on here and say what we say. We do this because the totally believe in Dr. Aceves and his clean and beautiful hospital , the caring doctors and staff that took care of us too. Go to the CDC Center For Disease Control)and check infection rates in the hospitals in the US, that should make you NOT want to have the surgery in the US. Check out Dr. Aceves's infection rate at his hospital.

There are some bad places in Mexico that NO ONE should go to those, but this doesn't happen to be one. There are far TOO many hospitals in the US that I would never go to.

It is about educating yourself...and those people who are uneducated --like the ones you are listening to and they say oh don't go to Mexico do not really know the real and true facts.

If you don't do something you will die sooner from being obese than an problems that you would ever encounter going to see Dr. Aceves and having wls. Your choice, do you want to let fear rule your life? Or are you going to stand up and do something that is going to change your life forever and all for the good. I use to be one of those people and thought why would you want to go to Mexico--then I found that the best facility and Doctor were located in Mexicali.

I would go back there in a heartbeat for ANYTHING I needed done. Chime in her ladies and lets educate this person please.

Take care,

Suzanne

Usually the people that slam dunk MX are too stupid to do a little research and reading. ;o)  They are typically the people that know someone who has a daughter who has a friend who knows someone who went to MX and had a bad experience.  The ones smart enough to read and research save oodles of money by going to MX.  So I wouldn't pay much attention to those who automatically down someone just because they are from another country.

Just because it's Mexico doesn't make it bad, it makes it Mexico. ;o))))))  I don't care if someone is having elective surgery in the US or Mexico or India... we all have to research.  I know butchers in the US.  They exist everywhere.  I went to Dr. Aceves for my band and I went back for my revision to my sleeve.  He's great!

You totally shouldn't be worried. My husband is also from Mexico and even he once

he knew that it was a private hosiptal gave his ok. He stated if it's a private

one then it's 100% better then the ones around here. I went down by myself and

had a sleeve done 11 days ago.

I beg to differ, I most certainly did not insult you.  I was most clear in saying not to put much stock into those who down another country merely because it is MX.  I did NOT refer to YOU, I referred to those who are SPEAKING to you.  It was most clear, please re-read what I actually wrote.

I understand your frustration! I originally decided with one clinic in Mexico however when i went back to confirm my contact was no longer there. I took that as a sign, i went on Obesity help page and read and the name DR Aceves kept comming up in reading others comments, i went with him. For me it was a "gut" reaction it just felt like the right thing to do !

I have sent several people to Dr. Aceves. My sister and a friend of mine have been and got the VSG since I had my surgery.

I totally agree with everyone that you do need to do your research. There are Doctor's in Mexico that I would not go to, just as there are Dr's here in the US that I would not go to.

I went to Dr. Aceves for several reason, one I like the location, did not want to go to TJ. I liked that her worked out of a full blown hospital, not a clinic. That I would stay the entire time after surgery in the hospital, and not being sent to a motel or recovery house.

Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos came by several times and day and even at night to check on me. The hospital staff were cleaning 24/7. I can honestly say it was the cleanest hospital I have ever been in.

Again do the research and I am sure you will make the best decision for you.
