Hi a,

Missed seeing you, but we will stay in touch. Yes, the good old liquids but I am doing good on my sticking with it. I have lost 17 pounds but that included the 2 weeks I followed my diet before I went for the surgery too. I really feel good. Talk with you later,

Suzanne in Oregon

Suzanne,

Good luck with your recovery and happy drinking...thankfully, the liquid phases are only temporary.

I was looking forward to meeting you and the others who were there. I was disappointed that I needed to change my fill appointment date so my friend can get her birth certificate from Massachusetts. We are set-up for November 10th again.

Take care

Hi Everyone,Well, I am home from Mexicali and it feels good to be home. I was treated fabulous when I was there by all the staff. What loving and caring people. I met 3 other people who were there for the same thing and we have really bonded and will stay in communication. I will say that Thursday 2 days after the surgery was the day I didn't feel that good, but I knew that I would be feeling better. When I got up to leave on Friday morning I felt sooooooooooooo much better. It didn't take long to get back over the boarder into the US. Sometimes they say that it can take awhile to cross the boarder. It was beautiful in San Diego. We all talked on the way to the airport. Our group said we we all get back together in 1 year if we can. My only issue has been taking my medication I take, but I found a way to crush it up and put it in with my food in the morning, so I am getting everything that I need. I have been taking it a little easy today, but did go out and do a little shopping. I do understand what everyone is saying when they say the first 20 days are the hardest. I will AGREE not much of a choice with the clear liquid and then the next stage is better. I am looking forward to the stage of mushy foods and then some bites of regular food. I really do feel full and I wasn't sure I would feel that way, but it sure works for me. I look at food and think how did I ever eat all that food before. There really isn't much pain at all involved and they sure send you home with a very detailed medical reports. I will be taking that in to my own doctor and having the tests that Dr. Aceves recommended I have in 3 months from my own doctor. They are very detailed oriented about their reports.I wish you great success and I will keep reading the postings.Take care,Suzanne Play online games for FREE at Games.com! Hey Jenni,

I knew something must be up if I didn't see you. No, as a matter of fact I was on the second floor Room 30. Thursday was my worst day when I was there, but nothing like yours. So do you have the band or the sleeve now? We left early Friday morning and it was grand to be back home. I am going for a walk this afternoon. It is a beautiful sunny Fall day here in Eugene, OR. I will be glad to get out of the liquid stage and on to the other stage. I am down 10 pounds from surgery, but we all know that happens the first few months. I will we walking a little each day this week outside and when it rains I have the treadmill. I am taking care of myself. Bob is wonderful and doing so many things to help me. He had the vacuum going yesterday--nice to see a man run the vacuum, but he has always done that ever since I have known him, he changed the sheets on the bed and is going to mow the lawn and get the leaves up here pretty soon.

Take care of yourself my friend. I know how disappointing not being able to go home when you expected must have been. Tell Dr Aceves and Dr. I said Hi. I miss their smiling faces.

Hugs,

Suzanne

I had the sleeve on 10/2/08 and I am now eating regular food again, I eat about 1/2 cup total before I feel the pressure to stop. Do eat your protein in first, then I have a little piece of fruit. I found I could eat bread, but don't do it. Although it goes down without problems, it's not what you should be eating. The signs that you are full are burping, a squeezy sound thing in the back of your throat...or it feels like a lump slowing sliding down the new tube to the smaller stomach. Every day is a learning process. It would be easy to just drink all your calories, but when you come off the full liquids...don't drink your calories anymore, do the switch.

The gas pain thing...I had much worse gas pain after a hysterectomy, some of those pain I thought I would die with, then I would I was afraid I wouldn't die and experience it again. After 4 days that was over.

Everyone is different...Good Luck to everyone recovering.
