Hi Gail,

Perfect, idea for the children's chewable gummy bear vitamins. I went and got the I purchased Costco brand chewable calcium with vitamins K & D. With the gummy bear vitamins do you just take one or do you take more? Makes me feel like a kids I get chewable gummy bears LOL. And for the other pills I take for high blood pressure I will try the applesauce. My Dr. said that they will probably cut my medication in half after I have the surgery so that will be great. THANKS for the great suggestions. So a questions what do you teach and where. I worked in the public schools for 23 years and just retired. I was a secretary for all the nurses in the school district. One of the nurses that I worked with had the lap band done with Dr. Aceves and that is where I learned about it and then went to my own Dr. and talked to her about it. My Dr. thought is was a great idea.

Cheers,

Suzanne

I too tried several vitamins - from the liquid on. The liquid made my stomach feel nauseated and I stopped taking them. I went to Costco and got the children's chewable gummy bear vitamins anda they are awesome! I love the taste and they are perfect!

I also got the Viactiv chewable calcium with vitamins K & D. Those are also great! I do take small other pills, but someone on here also wrote that if you take a spoonful of applesauce and put the pills in there, you can get them down. But I wouldn't take any horse pills if I was you. I tried to cut the pills in half and they still tasted awful. I didn't try the applesauce and would have if I had known about it then. So, once you get the sleeve, get as many liquid or chewable that you can and chew, chew, chew them up really well!

I wish you the best!

Warmly,

Gail

I am going to have the VSG and I have some questions about the Multi Vitamins and Calcium that I take daily. My pills that I take are large and I will not be able to take them (swallow them). Have any of you figued out how to still get what you need for Multi Vitamins and Calcium? I know that they have a chewable Calcium, but what about a Multi Vitamin? I am trying to think ahead to stay healthy. I will pick up some protein shakes that Gail talked about from Costco. I checked them out the last time I was there. When I visited my primary care doctor the other day, she said she thought Dr. Aceves may tell me to take half the high blood pressure meds that I am taking now. That would be nice to get rid of those in time. Then all I have to deal with are the hot flashes. It has been 11 years and I still have some at night when I sleep. One of the blood pressure meds I take have made the hot flashes a lot better. Instead of having them every 2 hours I may now only have one in the morning and one at night when I am trying to go to sleep. If anyone has any great ideas about hot flashes I am open to hearing them. I am waiting for Nina to get back to me for a date for the surgery. Have a great weekend and I will wait for some great answers from all of you.Toot-a-LooSuzanne

Hi Anne,

Thanks it seems to be that everyone is taking the Chewable Gummy Vitamins and I wasn't sure how many to take but you confirmed 2 per day. Thanks. I went to Costco and got the Chewable Calcium--their brand.

It is great to be able to ask people all these questions. This site it great and I appreciate all of you.

I tried Centrum chewables, but I thought they were pretty nasty. I also like Viactiv Calcium and there is a generic for that too in chocolate and caramel chews that are pretty yummy. You take 2 of those a day with meals.Anne Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? Check out WalletPop for the latest news and information, tips and calculators.

Yes there are Viactiv chewable multiviamins at Walmart. I think they

come in several flavors even. I like the chocolate cherry ones.

Centrum has a liquid multivitamin for the first ten days if you think

you need them but it tastes pretty nasty. I would just wait until you

can chew them up to a liquid. I like the Viactiv ones (calcium and

Multi vitamins)--they are my " little treat " each day--like candy.

I teach business and real estate at a college in San Diego. I love the college age students and work with so many wonderful people! I am very blessed!

As for the chewable vitamins, the directions say "two chewable gummy bears for a child" so I take four. If you can't take that many, just start off with two per day to get some vitamins into your system.

I am like Penny in that I love the Viactiv carmel flavored calcium chews....they are my candy treat!

That is wonderful that you have retired! One day I will get to do that too!

Warmly,

Gail

who talked about the vitamin b-12 deficiency, THANK YOU!! My symptoms were/are

the same as yours so I am now taking a sublingual b12.
