Guest guest
Suzanne, Hello! I am in killeen, Texas. I work on Fort Hood as a teacher of special education for KISD. Do you know where that is? How far away are you? Can't wait to go to HEB to see if they have the stuff. I get so excited about making stuff! I guess that is a true crafter. Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Stasia, First of all, I am so sorry you took that as a complaint against you. It didn't even occur to me you would think I was speaking to you (as I was responding to the post I had a problem with...posted by ocean_ophelia). I think your info has always been meant well and has been helpful, it was the specific post by ocean that I had a problem with. Guest guest
Hi Gail, Well, I want to look back in a year and see how far I have come. I will make some kind of picture frame that shows them all from fat to thin. Do you have any pictures posted on the site? Have a nice evening. Suzanne In a message dated 1/14/2009 6:46:05 P.M. Gail From: SuzanneSHaol <SuzanneSHaol>Subject: Re: Official member of the sleeve-sters club! Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 4:04 PM Hi , We were there in Oct and one of the guys got a fork and went to the thermostat and turned the air conditioning cooler so we didn't suffer from the heat. So you might want to look at the thermostat in the hall and see if you can turn the air on with a fork--just a thought. I never got Sunny Delight--oh well. The blue stuff wasn't bad at all and I didn't care for the chicken broth--must have tasted different than what I was use to in the good old USA. But anything taste good when you are on the clear liquids. You are doing the right thing by walking. I didn't have any pain pills after the first day either. They give you some to take with you when you go home, but I never used mine. I do remember when I came home I had trouble sleeping some night and would get up in the middle of the night and watch a little TV or read. Popcycles always made me feel better--give it a try when you leave if you are having problems sleeping. Now you know what we were saying when we said how nice it is there and how well they (the staff) treat you. There is always a lot of staff around. Are you on the 1st floor or 2nd floor? Take care and I am thrilled that you came through this like the trooper you are. Go to the site, I posted some new and current pictures of my new weight loss of 41 pounds. Our iv's were taken out today, we drank the blue stuff to show no leaks and were rewarded with a glass of hot tea, glass of apple juice and, go figure, a glass of Sunny Delight. I thought they were supposed to be clear??? Had I known, I would have brought some S.D. with me. B. and I have had no pain pills which should make some of you feel good that haven't had the surgery. We're encouraged to walk often, which I do. Doctors are in frequently to see how we're doing and if there's a nurse shortage in the U.S., you wouldn't know it here. Be sure and ask for a fan when you get here. It's 80 deg. in Mexicali so the Mexicans think it's cold. No a.c. in the hotel and no a.c. in the hospital...yet. Both B. and I were given fans. My mattress was hard and I asked for a softer one. Whoosh, out went my bed and in came one with a soft mattress. How about a blanket? No problema. Will check in with you tomorrow but so far, so good. I just want people to understand what a life saving thing this surgery is. Not only for me, but for ALL of us who have had it done. I had such great support from so many people on this site and most of all from YOU and Bipley. When I needed advise you both had my back for me. You are pretty awesome yourself. You always have great thought and an excellent way of saying things in such a kind way. When I know the exact time that Annette and I will be at the airport in San Diego on Sunday April 26th, I will let you know. I really would love to have you come to the airport and I can have a chance to see your beautiful skinny body that you now have. You are doing a great job yourself too! HIPPA really won't be any help to you if you aren't a patient where you work. However, a lot of employers have some policy in place that might help with that. (Mine doesn't) If you work in a small office like I do, you might just have to go with a story like the gall bladder story I told my coworkers. Guest guest
Hi , For me it is something that I am going to be taking forever I think. I also had a hiatal hernia and Dr. Aceves fixed mine when I had the sleeve surgery. The benefits I get far out weigh the effect of taking Prilosec forever. I love been thin and feel great all the time. Hugs, Suzanne
Guest guest
Suzanne,Are you still taking Prilosec? Is this something that we will do the rest of our lives? Before surgery I was on 30mg of Prevacid due to a hiatal hernia & reflux so it may just be me but at 3 months out I did try skipping it and didn't last a day before acid started so I was wondering if this is a forever thing. Guest guest
I can only speak for myself. I walk daily and sometimes two times a day. I am 65 years old and just had a bone scan done. I am in good health and I don't worry about fractures. I am now walking with weights on my ankles and wrist for more weight bearing exercise. Guest guest
I still have a few drinks..It may be "empty calories" but I enjoy it. I no longer drink wine, I switched to vodka because there is no carbs in it and mix it with Fuze. Guest guest
My doc told me to take calcium, vit D and weight bearing exercise like walking or running. He has taken Prilosec himself for 20 years and says he js not worried. I think its one of those things you have decide for yourself if it's worth the risk or not.
