Keflex isn't going to do a darn thing unless you have an active infection.  If you do not have an active infection the Keflex is just going to make you immune to it in the future when you actually do need it.I hated my port when I was banded, I had to brace it when I would go running.  I looked silly. ;o)

Ports hurt, no way around it.  It is stitched into a muscle. One question.. Dr. Aceves did not use the high profile port in 12/06, he used the low profile port.  Always.  I was banded 12/6/06 and he was using the low profile port.  What leads you to believe he gave you a high profile port?

Even though I had the low profile port it stuck out like a tumor.  Hated that thing....On Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 5:37 PM, benyam d <sheegog@...> wrote:

Hey Bandsters I just had birthday. I was banded 12/13/06. I have thr larger port that the Dr use to utilize. It's very visable at all times. That dosen't bother me as much as the issue that I have encountered lately. I'm swollen black and blue warm to touch around my port. I went to physican today to get the 2.0 of fluid removed. I thought I had encountered slipage. I've experienced slipage in the past. It didn't appear to be that way. However I can't jump or slouch without pain. I mean intense pain. The first question that the physican ask was have i done crunches lately? Well, yes I belong to a Boot camp as well as a gym. I've never experienced any trouble in the past with any exercises. Well, I didn't know that I should have never been preforming abdominal crunches. This has slid my port. The question I have is has anyone else Had this issue? Is this a serious issue? How can I resolve this issue without possible surgery again?

I was provided KEFFLEX to aid in bringing down the swelling. The physican told me that my band was fine no problems.
