There have been many discussions here on this subject, and the consensus of

opinions has always been SLEEVE.

Hey Bob,

Welcome to our group. The sleeve is the only way to go I feel and so many other will probably say the same thing. Once it is done, you are good to go forever. If you do the lapband so many people have problems with them, slipping, getting their "sweet spot." And not being able to eat anything but liquids. Some of them have said they had trouble swallowing their own spit--doesn't sound like anything I want to deal with.

The lapband requires maintenance by filling and un-filling them--through a port under your skin with a needle. The cost is between $200.00 to $400.00 to fill unless you live close and can go back to Mexicali.

The sleeve is permanent and you will love it. You will never feel hungry, you will start eating healthy (it takes effort on your part). And there is NO maintenance to a sleeve. I feel that any of these Weight Loss methods are only a "tool" to allow me to get to where I want to go. So in my opinion I feel the sleeve is the only way to go. You have to eat healthy, exercise and make sure you make yourself come first. Once the weight starts coming off you, you will be so excited it will be easy to do. It is a life changing event, that you will wished you would have done it sooner.

Keep coming back and asking us any questions that you have. I had the sleeve done in Oct 2008 and I have lost 96 pounds and I am 64 years old. I only wished I would have had it done 25 years ago.

Congratulations for taking the first step of thinking about it, and asking questions--you are on the right track. The people on this board are fantastic and great about sharing their experiences.
