Guest guest
How do you decide your goal weight? Of course there are BMI charts but they usually don't take account for body frame. 140 on a 5' 3 " person small fram looks way different than 140 on a 5'3 " large frame. And how do you know what kind of frame you have anyway? I have a hard time picturing myself thin, I know what I looked in high school at 190, but that is still technically overweight. 5'3 " 297.4 at start of liver shrink 7/2/08 292.3 today 7/11/08 Sleeve date 8/5/
Guest guest
It's just a guess. I knew that if I could get down to about 150lbs I would "feel good". That was my guess. I got there and wanted just 5 more off, so I changed my goal to 145, I got there and thought, just a few more so I changed my goal to 140. I would have NEVER guessed I wanted to be at 140lbs. And now here I sit at 131 My BMI says Normal. I could still lose another 12lbs and be in the normal range for BMI- I would NEVER consider losing that much more. It would look horrible. So just guess where you want to be and change it was you get there and want more or less. CyrenaDOB: 1/19/07240/131/150start/now/goal5' 4" tall Goal Weight How do you decide your goal weight? Guest guest
I'm not sure how others come up with their goal weights but the one I have posted here is a combination of considerations. First my nutritionist suggested 170 (I was thinking 150) Then Dr. Aceves nutritionist suggested 175 after considering my body shape, pre-surgery measurements and weight. My pre-pregnancy weight was 130 but I was quite young. After my first child, I was happy at 150 and hope this will be a good weight for me eventually. The 2 recommended weights will keep me in the obese BMI range but I must also consider possible extra skin with any rapid weight loss. Most of my weight is in from the waist down therefore I expect considerable extra skin but hope I will be able to manage some of it with my 2 hour exercise routine. I hope this helps. I think it's hard to imagine a healthy body size when one has been obese for such a long time (and in my case, since I was 18). My plan is to just lose and find my way to where I feel healthy.Good luck a (going for my first fill with Dr. Aceves today) DOB May 9th,2008 (365) 345/3??/170 From: castloyale <roboothe@...>Subject: Goal Weight Date: Saturday, July 12, 2008, 3:34 AM How do you decide your goal weight?
