Guest guest
Do not remove the tape. In time as the wounds heal, the tape will begin to come loose. I didn't know I was supposed to leave the tape on either. Congratulations. You were most likely recooperating from surgery while I was there getting my first fill that same Monday. Best wishes on your new life. c shellin mistykelm <mistykelm@...> wrote: I just got banded on Monday, Dec 10, 2007 and I have not taken off the tape that is covering my stitches, an I supposed to be changing this myself? Guest guest
If you look at the written instructions you were given I believe it says to let them fall off on their own. Use an antibacterial soap and gently wash over them. They should fall off days after surgery. Guest guest
leave the tape strips on until they fall off. It will take about 10-15 days usually. Just wash with mild soap, pat dry and leave the strips until they fall off. mistykelm <mistykelm@...> wrote: I just got banded on Monday, Dec 10, 2007 and I have not taken off the tape that is covering my stitches, an I supposed to be changing this myself? Guest guest
I would suggest holding off a few more days before taking it off. If the tape comes off on it's own, I would consider re-taping it until 10 days post-surgery. -jimmistykelm <mistykelm@...> wrote: I just got banded on Monday, Dec 10, 2007 and I have not taken off the tape that is covering my stitches, an I supposed to be changing this myself? Guest guest
I believe it is 10 days you should leave the tape on, if it stays on Mine was gone by day 3 or something with no problems. Don't put medicine on them when the tape comes off, just keep them clean, use anti-bacterial soap when you shower everyday. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress Cyrena DOB: 1/19/07www.cyrenaweeks.blogspot.com240/153/150 Less than a week!!! Guest guest
Misty: By all means leave the tape alone. It will come off by itself in a few days. Just shower normally and pat the incision areas dry with your clean towel. Do not pull the tape off. It will most likely fall off near the end of the first week. Guest guest
I left mine on untill they fell off by themselves. Since you can shower, they will naturally come off pretty quick. Take care of yourself, Deborah
