Guest guest
I find that I also have a very rapid heart beat after eating sometimes. Going back to the sugar, I did have a small chocolate and did notice the rapid heart beat but had also had some wine prior to that so not sure if it was the wine or the chocolate but it doesnt always just happen with sugar. Sometimes I have sugar and it doesnt affect me. The other night my heart was beating out of my chest to where I felt like I couldnt breath. I wish I knew what these were being caused from. My eating experience sucks so far with the sleeve. I dont want to eat because I feel like crap almost everytime I do unless I have like yogurt or bland food. I also cannot tolerate smells of foods..makes me want to throw up. Does anyone have this issue? > > > >> > >> I think the point is being missed here. Guest guest
Dear , It is IMPERATIVE that you get to a doctor to have this checked out immediately. With you not eating, you're not getting as many nutrients as before and your body is possibly washing away a number of normal electrolytes, including potassium. Potassium is an essential element that your body needs to regulate, among other things, your heart rate. If you are lacking potassium because you haven't been eating, you will need to have it replaced (and the over-the-counter potassium products DO NOT have enough potassium to replace what you need if you are seriously deficient - you need prescription-strength potassium only your doctor can give you). I'm six weeks post-op and have gone through the same thing. But, a lot of people have written me and told me it would get better. I believe them. A lot of the food I ate before doesn't smell good. Experiment with other bland foods. Deli sliced turkey and cheese tasted good. Milk is palatable. I believe a lot of my problem with food is I was trying to take bites that were too big and not chewing until it was a watery mush. I'd swallow a big bite, it would hurt, and I would end up nauseated and then not want to eat again. Popsicles were my best friend. Hang in there, I am. I have faith it will get better.
