Guest guest
Wow you have gone through alot...The docyor doing the tummy tuck and fixing those boobs, did Dr Aceves recommend him? How much is that costing you if you don't mind me asking? I am 4 mths post op and have lost 90lbs so far but have a ways to go and will definately need both of those done on me..I can't find a surgeon here and some of them are really really expensive... Take care and get healthy From: <shellro@...> Sent: Wed, January 26, 2011 10:15:05 AMSubject: few days from my one year since surgery! Ok people I know it's been like forever since I've been on here, but I thought I would post a update on me. This Jan 31th will be my one year mark since vgs sugery. I've lost 90lbs so far (: With this weight lost it's brought on my issues here are the few things I've had to deal with during my past year. First thing is the gerd issue, I loved my stuff from Mexico but when I ran out in six month and I had a hard time finding ones on the market that would work as well ): A friend of mine who also had this sugery was able to come off everything around nine months post op but am still unable too at this year mark. Next issues I just learn about was my stomach meds were not allowing my body to take iron into it system as well, so am dealing with very low iron levels. I have to take my acid pill mid day to allow a few hours for my vitamin to get into my body. I also have to take extra D and iron. Due to low levels I've been told by my family and my work cutomers that I look crappy most of the time, like sickly looking. Not nice but very true.I was alway tired and very pale.No matter what I did I didn't feel better. So other issues am dealing with are in my head. The weight loss still hasn't hit me yet. I still see the old me when I view myself. The extra skin and hang boobs don't help either. Am going back down Feb 15th to see Dr Bello for a reduction and a tummy tuck. I will be in Mexicali in the hospital for 9 days. I hope with the new knowledge of my anti acid meds causing some issues, my body's level will go up and I'll feel and look better very soon. The plastic sugery I know will help most of my viewing issues. So to the next chapter/next year of my new body......
Guest guest
I think all of these things you are dealing with have affected some of us one way or the other. It is always a good idea to have a blood draw and a full panel done every few months until you get a better balance. For me I was so tired, but knew right away that it was my potassium that was really low. So with meds that got better once they figured out the right dose to give me. It takes time to allow your new body to make these adjustments, and effort on your part. I also suffer with GERD, and know I will probably for the rest of my life. A small price to pay for losing 105 pounds. I just take OTC Prilosec and it works great for me. That image that we have in our heads does take sometime to get used to the new body. I am thrilled that you are going to go have your skin removed. You will just have to keep looking at yourself and say "damn I look GREAT." I am still am shocked when someone calls me "skinny." I think me skinny no way, but compared to where I was and where I am now yes I am skinny, and so many of my friends are overweight, so they really view me as skinny. I feel their pain and I am sure you do too if your friends are overweight. You know this might be their answer, but they have to want it just like we did, before it will work for them. Congratulations to you. Hugs, Suzanne In a message dated 1/26/2011 11:55:39 A.M. Guest guest
Re Dr. Bello, it's different for everyone depending on what you want/need done. I got a quote but that's not to say his quote would be the same for you. What he requires is photos of the body (leave your face out of the shot), so he can estimate what all you'll need done. He'll then give you a quote personalized to your requirements. I've not gone forward with him, as many life-altering events are currently occurring for me and my husband, but he comes highly recommended by Aceves. > > Wow you have gone through alot...The docyor doing the tummy tuck and > fixing those boobs, did Dr Aceves recommend him? Guest guest
Hi , I think you are the Saskatchewan . I am in Vancouver BC and had my surgery on September 9, 2010. At my 3 month check up which I did at 4 months due to Dr. availability, I discussed breast reduction and pannus removal with my doctor. I know that BC Med will pay for both, however, they provide the basic surgery and apparently do no lifting or reconstructing. Although I was only 4 months out, I knew I might want the surgery down the road, and she suggested getting the ball rolling as it takes a while to get approved and surgery dates etc. I think you can push surgery dates forward
Guest guest
What a journey! I think the tummy tuck etc will help you a lot, too. Hang in there. You're doing something right for sure. I do feel concern about your energy level. Someone here will respond and give you some good ideas about this....Keep on keepin' on..... Guest guest
Yes Liz I am the girl from Saskatchewan. I had my surgery Sept 28. Here in Sask. the government will pay for surgery is you lose 100lbs or more. There is a huge problem though. There is such a demand for plastic surgeons that only a select few are willing to do the government funded surgeries and they make more money on those people that are paying the full shot. That being said there waiting lists are huge for surgery as there is such a back log for OR's here so these surgeons won't even put you on a waiting list and one of the best surgeons is retiring in June and I won't be ready for surgery by that time. I have lost 95lbs and hope to lose another 65lbs before having surgery. It really sucks...I am trying to find out if the government will cover my surgery costs if I go out of province or even back to Mexicalli, I really liked it there... That is so fantastic about your results. The same was for me I was pre-diabetic, my blood pressure was up and my coletral was high and now everything is normal. Nothing like wight loss to change our lives..I love it and feel fantastic. I do Zumba twice a week and I am on my treadmill 3-4 times a week. I have lots of energy that I havent had in years and feel great. I have gone from a size 26-30 to a size 18 in just 4 months. OMG!!! At the beginning I couldn't get rid of my clothes, just in case I gained the weight back. But now I am packing them up and someone else can have my fat clothes I never want to see them again...I have a different outlook on food I am no longer a carb lover, I could care less about having carbs and I eat healthier... Keep in touch!! From: Mueller <lizdietz@...> Sent: Wed, January 26, 2011 5:43:32 PMSubject: Re: few days from my one year since surgery! Hi , I think you are the Saskatchewan .
