Guest guest
Deb, The tare feature means that you can put your measuring cup on the scale, hit tare and then it goes back to zero and you can weigh your ingredients accurately. Guest guest
A Tare feture is to subtract the weight of the item that is holding your liquid. Example: You use a bowl to put oil in. The bowl weighs .6 on your scale now you need to push the tare button to make the scale go back to zero with the bowl on the scale. It just makes it easier to figure out the exact amount you need. The scale will cost around $50.00 for a good one a place to look is like www.brambleberry.com it seems like they have a scale like that. Guest guest
Jan, Do I understand this properly. I put the measuring cup on the scale, hit tare and it tells me the weight of the cup. Then when I add my ingredients I know how much to subtract for the measuring cup????? lynn in valencia lavender bluffs bath and body " A little touch of heaven in your bath "
Guest guest
Lynn, Put your cup on, weigh, hit tare. This will take you back to zero, now measure ingredients. This will give you an accurate weight. If I can explain it better, please let me know. Sincerely, Jan S. www.sweetprairiesoap.com supplying your gift basket needs soap molds, soap cutters on sale!!! Guest guest
Gee, that's great to know Terri. Thanks for that info. Hope you knee starts feeling better and that the doctor doesn't find anything besides arthritis. RE: Lye Calc <<<<The scale is a postage meter & it weighs accurately from what I can tell.>>>> just read this in the Sept 10 issue of Womans World... to test if your scale is " on " weigh 10 pennies and it should read an ounce. Guest guest
My girlfriend who got me into BFL told me to get on the scale at the beginning and end of my challenge, and not in between. I think that's pretty good advice. Guest guest
Hello, It has come time to find a new scale when I woke up this morning and lost 50lbs over night! It must be that extra walking I did...lol. This ole' scale would give me different readings and I would avg them....I know that sounds crazy but I wanted to stick with the same scale through this whole journey because what if they new scale weighs heavier??? So I was wondering if has a scale they could recommend, that they feel is always accurate. Thanks! Nadine 362(346)/283/150 1.3fill

Guest guest
Man I want your scale, 50 lbs overnight. lol lol :-) I got my weight watchers scale at walmart and it seems to be a good one, it is pretty consistant. I had gotten it because it was the only scale I could find that went all the way up to like 350. so it has been the scale that has been with me through this journey. :-) take care, > > Hello, > It has come time to find a new scale when I woke up this morning and > lost 50lbs over night! Guest guest
maybe you could commit to getting on it only at a scheduled time (i.e. every monday morning).. i've heard that when trying to lose weight, it is best to get on the scale once a week.. and if trying to maintain, once a month (or is it the opposite?! but i like the idea of once a week.. just a thought. for me, i know that i need to avoid it all together...
