Anyone else on here having a difficult time following up with A Doctor 3 months after SLEEVE surgery? I just don't have the money to see a doctor or to fly to San Diego to go see Dr acevas. I wonder how important it really is??

I am feeling great and have lost 84lbs since surgery-5 months today!! August 7, 2010.

HI Jana,

If you are feeling great then it seems ok. I know that if you don't have insurance, and money is tight then you have to make choices. I was lucky and have insurance. I had my primary care Doctor and all she did was run a blood panel. So I wouldn't get too concerned. You might see if you could go to a lab and have a blood panel run. My potassium was low when I left Mexicali and so that is why I went. I am glad to hear that you are doing so good and congratulations on 84 pounds. You knees and entire body thank you too!

I could have had my f/u here in the states for about 1500.00 USD instead I am flying to Arizona and driving to Mexicali for f/u the whole trip and f/u is around $600.00 ($150 for the f/u test/and EGD rest is travel, car and hotel). I live in Northern Montana. Good luck, Sharon

I'm not doing a lot of things I'd like to be doing now due to lack of funds. Why not just send an email to Dr. A and tell him how you feel etc etc etc, give him an update and see if that suffices. Of course seeing him would be ideal but we aren't living in ideal times.

We live in Wolf Point, 60 miles south of Canada 90 miles west of North Dakota, so the very top right hand corner of the state. Literally the middle of nowhere. 90 miles to the closest wal-mart which is in North Dakota. town is nice. Sharon
