Is it the Freedom or the 3G. Because the 3G has several styles of hooks, one of which is designed to be used with ear molds. That is a lot wider than the regular titanium hook (that has the ball on the end). And there is a soft cover that can go on the ear hook as well. That will make it wider than the plain titanium, and could be a good thing for attaching the mic loc. Check the catalog for details.
