Guest guest
Hello, I'm new to this group and everyone says that the best way to learn more about CI's is to talk to others who have CI's or family with people with CI's. So here it goes. I'm 30 years old and I " ve been profoundly deaf all my life using bilateral HA and lipreading. In the last few years my hearing loss has progressed even more in which my right ear no longer has " word discrimination " for speech without visual cues. Thus, I found that I " m a CI candidate and am scheduled for surgery April 3rd, 2007 for a Nucleus 24. Hence, I would love for anyone to give me advice regarding questions to ask, expectations, or anything you think I could use. I " ve done research and read all the stuff the company tells you, but I'd love to hear from the real thing...CI users. Thanks!
