The last week in Albuquerque sure has been interesting. I'm sure you

have seen stories about the snow in Denver but doubt that you know

about the snow in Albuquerque. We were also hit by the storms that

you've probably been reading about and although there was some

melting - most of us here enjoyed a White Christmas.

Early yesterday morning, it began to snow here for the second time in

a week. It has not stopped yet although it does seem to be slowing

down to flurries right now. When measured on flat ground, we got a

reading of 14 inches. There are places in the yard that are much

deeper. People have been stranded on the main highways here since

Thursday night. There are power outages being reported all over the

city. Nevertheless, those who have been interviewed on TV all seem to

have the same opinion. This is truly a winter wonderland.

When you look out the window - the white scenery is absolutely

beautiful. This coming from a New England girl may surprise you but

here I can look out and see white mountains and the view of the

landscape is very long distance. For those of you who deal with

visual loss - I hope I have described the beauty of this winter

wonderland here in Albuquerque. There is something about this that

makes you feel very peaceful.

Happy New Year Everyone! May 2007 bring peace to us all and give us

a greater appreciation for the gift of sound we have been given.
