Guest guest
Hi Evel- >>The CIS strategy, developed by Blake and. associates,. is a nonsimultaneous pulsatile scheme.<< " nonsimultaneous " is the key here. That is what CIS was developed as by Blake at RTI. Lorie Clarion 1.2 5/96 NYC
Guest guest
Okay, I'm new to CI. Haven't gotten mine yet. Will be getting Nucleus 5. Guest guest
Howdy, I was away in Ann Arbor doing research on CIs, and thought someone would have answered your question by now. SPEAK and CIS are 2 programming strategies that have been available on Nucleus implants up until the Freedom came out. SPEAK is a very slow strategy, and the one I prefer (probably because I'm a blonde), and CIS is a very fast strategy, and one that many prefer for music. CIS is a strategy that is common to all implant types. Advanced Bionics and Med-el both use CIS strategies. ACE is the usual programming or mapping strategy used on Cochlear devices. It can be fast or slow or anywhere in between. ACE programming, like SPEAK are exclusive to the Nucleus brand of implants. Because of its flexibility, it is the default mapping strategy for Cochlear devices. However, some of us, like me, prefer other strategies. So I am thrilled beyond words to know that I can soon have SPEAK on my Nucleus 5 processor. Once again we can have mappings as individualized as our fingerprints!! Hope that answers your question.
