Guest guest
Hi , Don't order the cord yet. You'll get 2 with your 3G, and as long as one hasn't been opened, you can return it for a longer one. One cord is short, and the other is shorter. Audi can measure and figure out which of the shorter cords you need, and then you call Cochlear and order the long one and tell them you'll be returning a short one in its place. They will send you the long cord, and a pick up slip that you put on an envelope and mail back to them. I'm just a wealth of information. While in Michigan this week doing implant testing I told a woman about the longer cord. She had NO idea it existed, and said she hates driving because she can't hear her kids. I'm thinking, " This is NOT a bad thing!! Who wants to hear 'gimme that' 'Mom, Jimmy bit me' and so forth. Anyway, told her about the longer cord, which I use when driving with the windows down, or when I want to listen to a passenger and so forth. The Microlink is a great system, and it just hooks into the bottom of the 3G. Incredible for something so small. And it was MADE to work with the 3G. 's suggestion of the Sound system is also a good one. Listen to him - well, maybe NOT in all things. But the system impressed me when I tried it out. Can't wait to read how your first mapping goes. Nucleus Volunteer Post lingual - Auto Immune disorder Subject: Re: cord length for , I've decided to order an 11 inch cord for times when I'm riding in the car with family or friends. My left ear will be implanted and the added cord length (as you said) would allow me to hear better in a noisy environment when people are standing/sitting to my right. I'm also going to take a look at the Microlink system you mentioned. That sounds (no pun intended <grin>) like it would work perfectly for me at school this fall as it would eliminate my having to carry a separate transmitter, receiver, batteries and extra microphones. Implanted: 12/22/04 Activation date: 1/18/05 (3 days and counting!)
