Hi Everyone-

I am aware that indeed Cochlear is working on a battery pack for the BTE - I

have actually seen a demo of what it would look like. Just be

patient....like with all the upgrades we all are waiting for, it will be

forthcoming! I hope that those who are basing decisions solely on the

rechargeable battery issue take this into consideration.

Remember too, Cochlear provides recipients with a large supply of disposable

batteries to start with! I have a feeling that it would be possible

candidates today will have a rechargeable option before they deplete the

initial supply provided by Cochlear.

Just as we all have choices, my choice was not to bother with the

recharging. I like going several days between battery changes - and not

having to worry if I have my gear if I travel. I just slip extra battery

packs in my purse, just as I did back in my hearing aid days. I get about

the same time on my CI processor as I did with my last hearing aids (2-3

days).

Cochlear presently does not offer any AA power pack for it's BTE

processors. And maybe they should consider it.
