Re: /own surgeon

Hi, ,

The reason I don't want to go back to my own surgeon is actually

many-fold. I felt he did a good job, my incision is amazing - all along the

crease

behind my ear - no large backwards C or shaved head. Following surgery he

called my husband from the operating room, but never spoke to him personnally

and I didn't see him until my office visit to have the stitches out. When I

went to get my stitches out he breezed into the room and told me how great

it looked. He hadn't looked at it! His nurse was having a tough time

cutting the stitches out one by one, as my skin was healing over them! Most

of

this stuff is minor, I know. Almost two years after my surgery, his office

began to send us bills for things that had been covered by insurance already.

We wrote and called and tried to explain, to no avail. Finally one day a

new person in his business office answered the phone and said, gee, I've been

handling lots of calls like yours; people getting bills years afterwards. It

was unsettling to say the least. Jeff told them he was NOT paying until they

could prove we owed the money, which, of course, we didn't. If I go there,

I can just imagine the bills starting again. I guess MOST of all, if I do

need repositioning or reimplantation, I surely do NOT want the same doctor to

do the work when things became untied! All excuses, I know, , but

it's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL

Now watch, with all of this " hullabaloo " , there will be absolutely

nothing wrong and Debra will be proved right in saying, " yes, honey, you ARE

paranoid! " LOL

Jackie,

I just can't keep my mouth shut on this.

I have to wonder if all the difficulty you've experienced with the sound

doesn't have something to do with a problem that you didn't know existed.

One would think that that was not possible but then experience is a great

teacher.

(hugs Jackie!) LOL You made a good case for not going back to your

surgeon. I'd be a bit upset if I started getting bills years later too.

Can you get to another CI surgeon? If only to know the person would

know exactly whats up.

Now if you are paranoid, go ahead and accapt that because until then,

you wont know for sure.

(am I loopy on the first day of the new year? good lordy save us all!)
