Does different sounds such as waves, rain, brook, nature, and it has a white noise setting also. I love it, and so do both girls. likes the brook sounds, so does . I use either rain or waves. HOWEVER, we moved this summer and there is a train that comes through in the middle of the night and blows it's horn at each crossing...and there are 3! It takes about 20 minutes for the obviously slow moving train to get far enough away that we can't hear it. You can get white noise machines cheap or high end. Depends on what is best. I think one of those fake fish tanks makes nice noise. I think I paid $20.00 for it at CVS. use to sleep to classical music - he loved that. Re: White noise HI, We use to use a fish aquarium but the fish died. We tried a white noise machine on our youngest child. She had colic and is a light sleeper and we found the machine to be very helpful. I think it would be worth a try. Maybe it will help block out the train and if he does wake up the machine would help him go back to sleep. We had a white noise machine that had several different noises. Examples are of the ocean, jungle sounds, rain falling, etc. My favorite white noise to sleep buy is the TV with the volume turned down very low. Guest guest Posted February 23, 2004 Report Share Posted February 23, 2004 Mike doesn't mind the noise from the TV, he can't stand the light from the TV with the changing brightness, colors, etc. His favorite white noise is rock music, which I like during the waking hours, but not when I am trying to go to sleep. So he bought me the machine for Christmas, I listen to waves or rain on my side of the bed, and he has his music on his side of the bed. Made both of us happy. Sharon H. Guest guest Posted January 5, 2005 Report Share Posted January 5, 2005 Hi Larry I was also one of those fortunate people to not hear white noise at activation.It was like I stepped out from behind a thick black curtain ..I heard myron's voice and that of my audiologist very clearly.In fact my audiologist took me around to other employees to show them.The range between my threshold and comfort levels were very high right from the beginning.I don't think that we should feel guilty about this..everyone is different and the cause of hearing losses are different..I felt like shouting it from the highest Mt. but instead I went door to door of my neighbors sharing the wonderful news.
