Guest guest
Hi You've hit the nail on the head with your reply about your dad thinking your mother was angry at him when she had to repeat herself. It is very hard to put volume in your voice without putting anger in it as well. We all know when we're mad at people and raise our voices. We tend to do the same thing if we just raise our voices, we sound mad, too. Your dad might need a hearing aid, OR to get the wax cleaned out of his ears. Or maybe he's enjoying presbycusis, which is the fancy term for old age related hearing loss. First sounds to go are the high pitched ones, like women's and children's voices. Told a friend of mine that, and he said, " Good " . Nucleus Volunteer No, he wouldn't be a candidate for a CI, he's not that " hearing impaired. " Some progressive hearing loss, I think, as my mother tells me that she often has to repeat herself, and then he says " you don't have to raise your voice to me " , very exasperated. He's 79. Thanks for asking.
