Guest guest
I am new to the group. A little history : I am a mom of a two and a half year old deaf child who currently has 1 CI and wears a hearing aid in the other ear. He is doing amazing, above age level with speech and language (at a 3 1/2 year old) We are scheduled to get hime a second CI in March, but are still unsure if it is the right decision. With his hearing aid only he comes in the sound booth at about 40DB straight across. We realize that this means his hearing aid is not necessarily helping with speech, but it is giving him localization and probably some help in noise. It would be so easy for us to make the decision to get a second implant if he wasn't doing so well, but he is and that is why it has been so hard. We are hoping that maybe some adults who have gotten bilaterals could give us some feedback, or anyone else who has an opinion Thanks for your time
