Alright last Monday I had the new Freedom processor implanted. I did

really well on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday I had to

deal with some throbbing around the ear. Today is Saturday and I did

very well most of the day. I can see things are starting to get better

for me. Well I hope that's the case.

I plan to go to work this Monday. Tuesday I'll see my Dr. for a follow

up on the operation. Then Wednesday I meet my audi and get hooked up.

WOW. Last year I had to wait 4 weeks. Now its 9 days. I guess as long

as I heal up enough, I can get going. I will be listening out of both

ears with a CI. This is a big thrill. I know I'll have to start over

training my new ear. But from what I heard and read here the people

who got their second implants done actually picked up a lot faster

than they did the first time. So this is just all too exciting. I'll

keep you all posted soon on the progress.

Tad,

I've noticed that others who have been implanted with the Freedom do not

have to wait 3-4 weeks like those of us who received the N24C or N24CA. One

person on another list had surgery and activation only a day apart. I wonder

if surgery for the Freedom is such that there is a faster healing time?

I wish you all the best for the 18th!! Being able to hear binaurally will be

a wonderful experience I'm sure!! <smile>
