wrong choice?

Hi NJ,

No you did NOT make a wrong choice. You made the right choice for

you. You did your homework, and picked the features you wanted and

that's what you got. Very nasty of someone to say that your choice is

wrong just because it was not their choice.

In the operating room, an audiologist can check with neural response

telemetry to make sure the Nucleus implant is stimulating the auditory

nerve. This is done before the surgeon closes. The Bionics has the same

feature, but I'm not sure what it is called. So you will know that the

implant is working before you're out of the OR. How YOU do with the

implant, is of course, variable. Everyone is an individual, and it might

take you months to get full benefit from the implant. Might also take

minutes. But it can be programmed and will be for your individual needs.

Congratulations on taking steps toward better hearing,

The Original

But in the real part she just

went with what was recommended, never did any research. So she should

not tell me that I choose wrong.. But I did consider going with the

Freedom and it was my second choice. What I would like to know here is

can they tell right after the surgery that the inplant will work fine

and you would never need to wear a hearing aide in the other ear that

had one.. I understood that they could not say if it would work until

after the 4 weeks when they turned it on.. Can someone set me on the

right path here..
