Guest guest
Sorry Dixie if i lumped you specifically with a list-level issue. If Cochlear funds the creation of a new 501c(3) which overlaps with LTH, that would be a better (albeit still fragmented) option than going alone, but on what basis do we think that's what they are doing? I don't worry about LTH as much as bitter competition that fragments the industry and it's charities. Sometimes it seems all too much like the Deaf culture vs Cochlear Implant, or ASL vs SEE vs Oral battles that plague the world of hearing loss. Sometimes this competition has little to do with the companies themselves, but their actions often fuel it among supporters. Imagine if any of the 3 mfgs said they were going to pull out of AGBell and do it themselves or fund creation of an entirely new charity in place of AGBell? It would raise a lot of eyebrows, as any such event probably should. Again, sorry if I lumped you into the bigger issue prematurely. Guest guest
Hi Steve, Thank you so much for your EXCELLENT post....hopefully this will conclude with facts how we hear the amazing sounds we all do. Bottom line is that we should all be rejoicing in the technology we have been blessed with. We have all made our CI choice with great thought and research.
