Guest guest
Hi , I'm betting someone answered you already, but if not, here goes. Any time you plug something into the 3G at the bottom of the unit, first you remove the protective covering, then you plug in whatever you want to use, THEN you MUST TURN THE DEVICE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. This lets it reboot to use the plug in. You can remove the plug at any time and not have to reboot, but when you first plug in, you have to. I think everyone has called, e mailed or visited an Audi with a " broken cord, or other adaptive equipment becuase someone forgot to tell us to turn it off and reboot " When the microphone is being used, you will not get hearing from any other source. In otherwords, the microphone you plug in over rides the built in microphones. So all you will hear from is the the auxillary mic. Hence, it is no better than using the CI alone for sound localization. Nice try on the audi's part though. What mode should the 3G be in when the external microphone is used? How do I know if the external microphone for my 3G is working? I just plugged it into the speech processor, placed it near my TV speaker, but couldn't hear any sound difference. I also tapped against the microphone, but didn't hear anything. (Years ago when I used a unidirectional mic with my FM system I would hear a boom type sound when I tapped against the mic. With the 3G mic, I don't hear anything.)
