Activated 08-17-05

Hi Everyone

My Name is Freddie, I was activated yesterday 08-17-05, what a day. When I

got there the audio. told me she was having problem with her computer,once she

hook the processor to the computer ,she begin to shake her head and frowns,

after what seems to be about 10 minutes, Fred begin to get concern thinking

she about to tell me something wrong with implant.The audiologist made a call

after a few mintutes of conversation and she told me it was working, What A

Relief, I didn,t let her know I was a little worry.Somewhere there she had

check the elecrode and they were all working, I don't recall what order was

first turn the processor on of listening to the beeps, but when it was turn on

what a Noise,sounds I can't explain because it been so long since I heard them

I didn't know what they were, she said it was the fan and other background

noise, A NOISY WORLD IT IS.The audio. ask me if I could hear her I brgin to

answer but stop in mid sentence,the voice I heard wasn't mine it sounds like a

little robot or some type of doll repeating the things I said(smile),her

voice was like in a valley or far away.I am hearing nose or sounds but not able

to understand speech without the ha,I went back today for more mapping and I

do believe ther is some different since yesterday.

I will like to think everyone from CI ,all the posts have been helpful, I

don't post a lot because I can't type but I read them every day or night.The

post is what had me prepare for my experience yesterday and today,whithout them

I would have been disappointed but I know this is just the begining of a

journey into a hearing world and it will get better each day.I know even the

robot will be gone one day,lol..
