Hi!

My son, Julius, was diagnosed with LVAS and Mondini Variant. His

current hearing is at 70-80db on both ears. He was aided at 10 months

old.

We are currently exploring the possiblity of giving him a CI. So far,

we have heard very positive things about it.

I was wondering if anyone had anything negative to share about their

CI for their babies/young children. Were there cases where it did not

help their children's hearing much?

Also, we were wondering if we should wait till he is a little older,

say, about 3 yrs old, before giving him the CI. He seems to be

progressing well with AVT, and the audiologist has assessed his

hearing age at 8 mths (since he has worn his hearing aids for only 8

mths)

Thanks!

Flora
