Hi ,

YES wind does get in the microphone part of your speech processor. If

you wear a hat that covers the ears and microphone, it's not a problem.

In summer on a windy day, you turn your head the other way.

When I drive I use a long cord (11 inches) to move the implant to the

inside (right), so I can drive with the window rolled down.

But yes, wind will affect hearing.

Subject: wind noise with CI

I'm preop on my CI (still waiting on insurance), anyway, I notice with

my hearing that wind buffeting around my head makes it very hard to

hear anything at all. Does this happen with a CI as well. Just

curious.
