Guest guest
Hi , Yes, the battery signal is 3 beeps in succession. A little bit like what the microwave sounds like when it's finished. You are using SPEAK, it's a very low power draw map, and you are on an initial mapping, which would have been quite conservative. I regularly get 11 DAYS from my 3 batteries. I also use SPEAK. If you don't hear the beeps, you will know they are dead because you can't hear anything. So carry a 6 pack of batteries with you and be ready to change them when you stop hearing. Sometimes I hear fine when I take the unit off, but when I put it on in the morning, the batteries are dead. So that might surprise you. Remember to pull the tabs on the batteries and let them sit for a minute before putting them in the 3G. And they only go in one way - on the side where the cord plugs in. Don't attempt to force them in the other way. Here's a hint for you. Push the old batteries part way out, then use the magnet on the head piece to grab them the rest of the way. Toss those out, and then put in the new ones that have rested for a minute. I've shown lots of people how to use the magnet to pull the batteries. Sounds like you're going to beat me for battery life! Nucleus Volunteer Post lingual - Auto Immune disorder From: " Comeau " <peacebypiece@...> Subject: Battery warning beeps Can someone descibe the battery warning beeps? Are they 3 beeps in quick sucession or what? I know that I WILL know when to change the batteries as I will have no sound, but i am just curious. I am still on the batteries put in for my hook-up a week from yesterday so I am expecting it any time. K, your story about hook up could have been mine.........LOL......I absolutely HATED the sound too and still, 8 days post activation, find speech harsh, fuzzy and distorted. I am currently reading and listening to a book and if I stop reading and try to follow along with just listening, I am unable to follow. I hope it will get better. I was supposed to go back to the clinic (6 hr. trip) tomorrow but my hubby is ill and I don't want to leave him alone (he has respiratory issues). I will go next Monday for some adjustments. implanted Dec.134/04 Nucleus 24C - 3G hookup: Feb.1/
