I got the implant almost two years ago.. I am still having a lot of problems undersstanding speech without lipreading... I do hear a lot of enviornmental noises which is nice but when I am in the house, or in the mall, or driving in the car I am having very hard time hearing voices bec I hear the engine etc.... With hearing aid I was able to hear voices in the car or outside,,, I was able to respond when people called my name but now with the implant theres no way I know when people calling out my name in public places..
