Guest guest
On another forum there was a discussion about fully implantable CIs. If you had the opportunity to receive one, would you? Why or why not? The idea interests me, but only if researchers can find a battery that allows surgical replacement every 2-3 years (or annually at the very least). Hopefully as time goes on and more research is done, batteries will not need replacement. Another question I have is in regards to programming. How will the CI be controlled? Will it use a remote control or will it utilize similar components used in today's speech processors? Although this idea may never see the light of day, it's interesting to ponder just the same. <smile> Left ear - Nucleus 24 Contour Advance with 3G Implanted: 12/22/04 Activated: 1/18/05 Right ear - Nucleus Freedom Implanted: 2/1/06 Activated: 3/1/
