Guest guest
I'm trading in the Sprint and it was worth some $2900 towards the upgrade to the Freedom. This info can be found on Cochlear's upgrade website. I don't have Medicare so I don't know about what they will or will not pay for. I took care of the balance in my own way. Didn't you or your insurance company still have to pay quite a bit for the upgrade? I've been informed that Medicare will pay nothing on purchase of an upgraded
Guest guest
if your DR. says the upgrade is necessary then Medicare will pay 80%. Patsy
Guest guest
Yes Medicare paid for my Freedom.............but I have not had an update. But I know as long as the Dr says it is necessary that Medicare will pay. I've had medecare for many years and they have always paid for everything. But you should always check for yourself before going ahead with anything that someone else says. Guest guest
It's me again. One thing I'd like to make clear. If you " JUST WANT " the upgrade and the Dr doesn't think it is necessary then I don't think that Medicare will pay for it. But you can check on that also. Guest guest
I know they paid 80% of my implant and just about all of the Dr bills. But I can not say what they would pay for you. Or if they would pay for the upgrades but I'm pretty sure if the Dr says the upgrades are necessary they would pay 80% but please check with Medicare first. Guest guest
, if you will reread my frist post..........you will also notice that I said I had not gotten an upgrade, as I got my first implant in Feb. I stated that they paid 80 % of the implant and that if the dr said an upgrade was necessary that I was sure they would pay 80% of it and I'm still sure of that. Thats all I can say on the subject. Thank you and if there was any misunderstanding then I'm sorry. Patsy
Guest guest
Patsy, Did Medicare in fact pay for yours? Those of us on Medicare want to know. Guest guest
Patsy, When you read Medicare's criteria in this regard, it says upgrades are not covered. Of course, I am not settling for that. LOL Do you know how much Medicare paid? I need to know what my budget will look like, as I am going ahead with this and will make sure my audi works with me, while he knows I need this, I am going to make sure he goes to bat for me. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Law of the Theatre: At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last. & Dreamer Doll (Guide Dawggie) Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
Guest guest
Patsy, I am not concerned with anything but the upgrade. I am curious to know if Medicare accepted the balance after trade in and paid 80% of that or if, as is customary with other procedures and services, they set the amnount they would accept. If you received your Medicare summary, that iwll show the details. You said they paid so I assume you did get that paper. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* If you think there is good in everybody, you haven't met everybody. & Dreamer Doll (Guide Dawggie) Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
