Guest guest
Hi everyone, I finally got my very own cell phone:-) I have the LG VX 4500 and it sounds great. I don't even need to use my t-coil setting but i tried it and it works with this phone. I noticed when I used the t- coil with my wife's headset i could not hear my voice. I have used the t-coil setting with my land line and hear my voice fine so it must have something to do with the headset? I would like to know if anyone can recommend a good headset that works with a cell phone and person with a CI? Linn Tearney has some good info. on the C.A. site about finding a good headset with a big speaker so its easier to line up with the CI's mic. but she does not say which one she has. So far I found two that look pretty good. One is the Plantronics M114 Headset. Info: Comfortable, adjustable headband- Noise-canceling microphone, Plantronics RF noise shield and microphone adjust switch deliver superior call quality.- Easy hands-free conversation- Adjustable Headband for comfortable, secure fit.- Adjustable Microphone boom- Noise-cancelling microphone for crystal clear calls- Advanced speaker technology protects hearing- Plantronics RF Noise Shield reduces annoying RF static- Microphone adjust switch for optimal voice output- Compatible with telecoil-equipped hearing aids- Clothing clip for added stability. The second is a Hello Direct Ultralight® OP Single 2.5 mm Headset Info: · Hands-free convenience and safety Slip on the OP, clip your cordless phone to your belt for total phone freedom! Use it in your car with your cell phone and keep both hands on the wheel while you drive. In fact, your state may require it! · Noise-canceling mic Make sure your callers hear you and only you. The Ultra light OP's tiny mic blocks out the background noise of a busy office—up to 15 decibels—so your voice transmits clearly. · Custom-Adjust headband Get the best fit possible. The click- stop headband is easy to adjust and remembers where you set it. · True-Voice speaker If you've ever used a lower quality headset, you know how annoying the sound quality can be. The Ultra light OP Single's speaker faithfully reproduces your caller's voice for true-to-life sound. Any info./ feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Evel

Guest guest
Evel, Glad to know that phone works. That is the one I want. When you can hear your voice, its sidetone. Apparently the headset doesnt have sidetone. Dont know anything about headsets but Plantronics seem to be a good brand. Email Linn and ask her. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Anything worth fighting for is worth fighting dirty for. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/

Guest guest
Thanks . I tried the T-coil setting with just the cell phone and NO voice again so the phone must lack the sidetone? Guest guest
Evel, Yes, no sidetone. Solution is to have the audie give you a mix on the program you like, mix t coil with the mic which can be 25, 50 or 75% In other words, you get sound from the mic so you can hear your voice. Try ot at 25% and see how you like it. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* What happens if you get scared half to death twice? -- & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
