I have stopped eating meat with antibiotics in it but only in the past week. Side effects: gassy feeling, have used Sorbitol a few days, but no major constipation problems. Have not needed Nexium at all, no reflux. Notable changes: Nothing obvious except the tendonitis around the knees has improved. The right knee is no longer painful. The left knee is 50% improved. FACT score improved one point on each eye, then at 14 days the left eye improved to a "negative" score while the right eye got one point worse - go figure. Weight loss of 2-3 lbs. Symptoms which persist at this time from 8 years of illness: neuropathy on left side of tongue, inability to do aerobic exercise. (This is currently worse due to inability to do any exercise with knee tendonitis) Sensitivity to mold in certain buildings with a sense of anxiety and increase in blood pressure from 110 to130/70 to 80 to 160/90 to 110 I do not seem to have infectious symptoms at this time, but this follows several years of antibiotics and 6 months of Zadaxin. Guest guest
Kathie, My protocol is from Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker. Since I mailed this summary I have had a liver function test. Both the AST and ALT are about doubled. They were around 40 - just above normal and now are in the 70's. The liver function test was run last week just by coincidence for my endocrinologist. He is very concerned that I am taking Actos and feels it is risky as a prior similiar drug was pulled off the market by the FDA because it caused liver damage. Hello. Wish someone knew what was going on. But, hey, the tendon problem in my knees CAUSED by quinolone antibiotics 10 months ago is resolving. I guess if the treatment doesn't kill you, you get better. Do I sound annoyed? a Carnes a Carnes <pj7@...> wrote: I have completed 14 days of Questran and Actos. I thought some might be interested in my experience so far.
