We rarely get snow here in Memphis, but in December had a freezing drizzle.

My 12 year old son , was playing outside with his friends and asked

" What is that noise? " After we told him, his response was " Cool, I never knew

snow made noise! "

The wonders of the CI! Thanks for sharing.

For years I longed to hear rain and after hookup stood in the open

doorway to hear it fall on wood, then concrete. But rain on your

slicker is the best!.

Again - you have touched so many people by the simple expression of

gratitude by just sharing your feelings about hearing the rain. I know what

you mean though. Yesterday, I first heard rain and then hail and then rain

again. It was noisy but I feel blessed that I can hear it.

<grin>

However, I'd love to visit you and share a mocha together no matter what

Its really very nice in summer, 70s, rarely any hotter. Fantastic beach

walks. Sea gulls to listen to, the calm waves, need I say more? LOL

Gimlet and I have braved the winter storms tho. I dont think I will make

her put up with it as much as she turns 9 tomorrow. I want to baby her now.

Wow, that sounds great! Summers here are nice too, but it can get a bit

humid in July and August. I'll be on the next flight to Portland, okay?

Alice and list,

Thank you all for your messages. It was so exciting to hear the rain for the

first time in years! I can't wait to hear my first hailstorm or the sound of

thunder. This has been quite an amazing journey and it's only going to get

better. <smile>

Thanks again! :)
