Guest guest
Hi , Indeed, it is a horror story to not follow through with mappings. I didn't get a decent one until 3 months after my implant surgery. By decent, I mean one that allows me to hear the way I do now. I heard with the first mapping, but it was weird hearing. Each subsequent mapping modified and allowed me to hear and understand more. So you do have to commit to following through with the mappings. Sounds like House has you prepared. The Original Thanks for the information. Maya is a patient at house ear clinic and they really push mapping. we were told ahead of time that if we couldnt make the mapping committements that we shoudlnt consider a CI. It just wouldnt be as successful. We live 2 hours away from House and we have taken her down there 7 times in the last 6 months. I firmly believe that if we do decide to proceed with a CI success lies in the mapping. I have heard of horror stories where after implantation, patients are just left to their own devices.
