Guest guest
That is probably true, that it isn't illegal to sell it, but why would anyone want to buy it? You wouldn't know where it's been, what's happened to it, how it came to be on sale at Ebay, of all places. For something as important as your speech processor, please buy from the manufacturer. Your hearing is too important to take such a chance. What if the processor on ebay is defective and damages your implanted device when you attach it? Too scary, I hope you don't go for it. Guest guest
Check out the last photograph. There's an INTERNAL implant processor included. Weird. Looks like that this implant WAS NEVER implanted in a person. The code says Z60655/ Does this mean that this was auctioned from a defunct medical office or practice. I would be leery of purchasing anything... but $200 is an attractive price if it is brand new. The seller disclaims any knowledge of its provenance. Guest guest
Dear : I would like to concur with your assessment in this scenario, with the caveats to follow. Should the processor, after being paid for, fail to properly function, who then would be responsible and who would mediate the almost certain contentious claims of the parties? What would be the position of Cochlear Americas on support? Little or none should be expected of a device that never passed through their doors! And, yes, the electrode array is not involved here.. and yes, the same is delivered to the surgeon in a sealed plastic container, to be opened at the time of surgery. Given the above, then if somebody can pick up a Freedom processor that works at a cheapo price, for a spare, then WHY NOT? Guest guest
Hello Bob, I need to ask for your profession because I am listing all the words (i.e., concur, assessment, scenario, caveats, mediate, and contentious) that are often used in the human service and public administration. I get tickled to read those words! (Smile) Regards, Kent MacPherson <hohbob@...> wrote: Dear : I would like to concur with your assessment in this scenario, with the caveats to follow. Guest guest
Hey Kent! Happy my word choices gave you a tickle. Those Tickle Me Elmo Dolls work good at that too! <G> Since you asked, albeit familiar to many here, my " profession " ? Only that of a laymen, no degree in HL stuff, a collector and disseminator of news and knowledge for the hearing loss community at large. And a good bit of original ( and sometimes controversial) content as well. " Human Service? " Yes. From years past as a peace officer and then paramedic onto writer and advocate on hearing loss, yes, that's what it's been all about. Just a thing, and proudly with never a penny taken or expected in my work. The joy of helping any of our lot to better hearing, which is what my list bh News really stands for, and sharing among many other lists is more than enough payment. Make any sense? Gives me a tickle.... Bob MacPherson hohbob@... <mailto:hohbob@...> Editor, bh News bhNews .................... > RE: Re: NEW! Nucleus Speech Processor System by > Cochlear!
