Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 a, I only use the t-coil when I am in a noisy situation. Otherwise I just put the phone up to the mic. Isn't it nice that we have that way of hearing better in noise? Hearing people don't have that benefit. Happy Hearing! Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 I know there are alot of people on the forum who just put the receiver up to the microphone, however, I always use my t-coil it helps block out the excess noise and make the sound much clearer. Remember that you can have your audie set the mix of the t-coil. For example my mix is 75-25. I hear 75% through the t-coil and 25% of the sound around me so it still gives me some non t-coil noise. Hope that helps. Connie --- Bernard Borenstein <bernardb3@...> wrote: > > Was just hooked up in August. I am wondering about > telephone > useage. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Good question! I couldn't tell you. For myself, I use just put the receiver on the microphone and talk away. I never had need for the T-Coil. I will say all bets are off if it is rather noisy around me :-) Just remember everybody is different in respect to phones. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Hi a. I have had the Freedom since my activation last October 7th. While I can hear on the phone with or without the T-Coil, I try to use the T-Coil whenever I can because it eliminates all the background noise. Sometimes you don't have time to switch, and you have to just pick up quickly and talk. You get usd to where to place the phone relative to your processor for best results.....trial and error. Hope this helps. Bernard Borenstein <bernardb3@...> wrote: Was just hooked up in August. I am wondering about telephone useage. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 a, I hear you. Yea, a volume control can alleivate that problem! I have had situations where that was available and I used it (the volumn control as opposed to fooling with the CI itself :-) in noisier environments. Still, it can be problematical where noise is concerned and competing with that is well...tough at times. I hope it works for you. Dale Bernard Borenstein <bernardb3@...> wrote: Thanks for the info. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Hello a Pre C.I. I hadnt used the phone for many years and when I did last use it, I had to use it as a speakerphone. Now I can use a mobile reasonably well, with no speakerphone. I just hold the mobile by my microphone, I dont use the t-coil, I havent really tried it in fact. I know I will get better, my map speed has just changed and I have a couple of electrodes turned off at the moment, I dont know whether that makes any difference to anything. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 My audi also told me to press both sides at the same time, but someone posted in HERE, that you can just press the centre of the button and it works fine and is much easier. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 I just put my phone up to the processor. In noisy situations, I find that lowering the sensitivity (S) to about 3 or 4 helps to quiet the background noise. The only frustration I have is having to take my processor to look in the window to reset my S back to 12. I am going to have my audi give me a program with V at 9 and S at 3 just for using in noisy situations, phone or just regular use. It helps me, maybe that will work for you as well. Guest guest Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Hi Irwin Starr,Thanks so much for the reply about the telephones. I will make an effort to use the land telephone without the t-coil. I probably need to turn the volumn up. The loop is great for cell phones that has alot of static it completely eliminates all background noise. You have to use the t-coil. Its kinda a hassle but worth it. a On Sep 27, 2006, at 9:27 AM, Irwin Starr wrote: > Hi a. I have had the Freedom since my activation last October > 7th. Guest guest Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Wow, I never realized the audi can do that mix... 75-25 very interesting. I will ask her in Nov when I go for my next mapping. Guest guest Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 , Thank you so much. I don't have sensitivity yet. My audi hasen't given it to me. I think she is afraid I will turn it down too much. I also have to take it off and look to see that the M is back on from the T. My audi has complained to Cochlear about the window and also about not having a seperate program for the t-coil. a On Sep 27, 2006, at 6:08 PM, wrote: > I just put my phone up to the processor.
