all the work you do in moderating the list. I've only been a subscriber for

a short time. In fact, 4 years ago, I would have never thought I would be

even considering a CI.

Thanks for starting this list 4 years ago! Without this list, I would

have never learned as much as I have since I joined here about 1 1/2

years ago (can't believe that much time has passed!!) As a Deaf adult

proficient in written English, it was this very site that taught me

all the positives about CI's. Thanks for all the sharing everyone does

here on this list!

Alice, let me add my congratulations on the list's 4th anniversary and wishes

for continued success. has sure made my journey a lot easier. As an added

benefit, it has brought together many CI'ers in my area of California. We try to

meet for lunch every month or so and help each other out. Had I not posted on

the list with my location, I would never have met with other list participants

in the area. I know the same is true for others in different locations as well.

Dear Alice,

I am so glad you started this list. I can't believe it's been 4

years already! Wow, how time flies. I joined CI Hear while I was

recovering from CI surgery and I am really glad I did. I have learned

soooo much from this forum! I don't think I would have known half of

what I know today without CI Hear. Thanks for creating a site where

all CIers can come for support. And thanks to all who participate in

posting. It's been great getting to know all your personalities over

the years.

Happy 4th Anniversary !!

Thank you Alice for starting this list that I am sure had help thousand of

people, young and older folks, throughout the last four years.

I learned about the pro/con, good/bad and all the options/choices, etc. of all

the CI brands.

I like the idea of able to asked question even though not having a CI yet.

Education can cut down the worries, the stresses and the fears of CI. I hope I

can have the opportunity to say " Oh brother are those crickets ever noisy

tonight, isn't there a way to shut them up?!!! "

My biggest hope is to hear how the dolphins sound like. Also the waves and the

birds. Of course the biggest dream is to understand the speeches (words) more

clearly.

I know I have learned a lot from you all to the point that if the lucky day does

come I going to be one huge happy dolphin on cloud 27 (I know, that should be

cloud 9 but I will be beyond cloud 9).

Gosh - there have been some beautiful messages here regarding the CI

Hear anniversary. Thank you so much for all the encouraging

comments. They do help.

All of this makes me feel that we need some kind of get together

beyond that of the conventions. We are approaching the Balloon

Fiesta here in Albuquerque on 10/6. This is a huge event here and

people come from many distant places to see it. Maybe a 5th

anniversary celebration at next year's (2007) Balloon Fiesta is in

order. The only thing I can see that would make this difficult

would be the time of year.

Any thoughts on this all?
