I wish I could dsitract you from that tinnitus. Its no fun, but who

nose, you may find it gone or minimized after activation.

I dont know what current research says but it was said that tinnitus is

kind of like the phantom effect one has after a limb has been amputated.

You still " feel " the missing limb. It could be the tinnitus is a result of

the brain thinking the missing inner ear is delivering sound.

Well my left ear which is not implanted gets it worse. The cilia is not

actually missing but dead or dormant. Poor brain.

Let me know if I can distract you ok? LOL

What happens if you get scared half to death twice?

You can distract me anytime. <smile> Your theory makes perfect sense. It

reminds me of the " phantom vision " a sighted friend experienced after going

blind. Even though she was totally blind, she could still see flashes of

light, color, print letters and numbers floating in random order in front of

her eyes.

The only thing I don't understand about my situation is since there was very

little sound difference in my left ear before and after surgery, why is the

tinnitus even a factor? Perhaps even the smallest amount of residual hearing

is enough to allow the brain to realize that it hears something?

Your inner ear was invaded and disturbed. Its upset by this intrusion.

Give it time and it may calm down.

Ok shall we stay up tonight and yak the new year in? LOL

How about we compromise with a mocha? That way we'll both be " alert " enough

to remember what happened tomorrow morning. LOL!

Remember tomorrow? Errrr, I will refrain from further comment for fear

of scandalizing the list. But lets not worry, for this will be the last

time we do it this year.

(wicked grin)
