Guest guest
" don't be so silly, these will be resolved to your satisfaction! " -- okay? OK, Chris. I just did. :-) I must add - you are doing very well with your new implant. Gradual adjustments will give you more and more of those sounds you are seeking. It's not unusual to need increases in the dynamic range often and this is what I think your ACE programs need. I do know several people who have CIS and wouldn't change it for anything. You could be one of those. For you and for the audiologist, this is the time of experimenting and searching for what will ultimately become your perferred strategy which you will likely only tweak once a year. I know I have mine and suspect most of us " oldies " also do. Alice
Guest guest
The volume setting of 0-9 is just the range that is available to you, as is the sens setting of 0-20. Its the T and C levels that will detemrine how much how loud you hear sound. Dont fret, you are far from reaching the limits. The brain is adapting and in the beginning, will adapt quite dramatically for many people. Also, the audie usually adjusts the T and C levels quite often in the early stages. As to the high frequencies, that too will change with time and more mappings. You are just a baby yet. ACE and CIS. You may want to keep both for a while longer tiol you are sure which you prefer. And yes the audie will tweak things so you find yourself in the working range, vol and sens. You are not even two weeks into this so what you are experiencing is normal. And it is progress. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Worry is like a rocking chair - it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere. --Dorothy Galyean & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
My implant is set to deliver the frequencies from around 100Hz to around 8000Hz. If my implant had been put in a fraction of a millimeter further in or out, the implant would still deliver those frequencies but I might perceive them slightly differently. Nothing to get concerned about though! In a message dated 12/20/2004 1:02:08 PM Eastern Standard Time, Lehfeldt@... writes: 1. While I'm going to bring my observations to my audiologist tomorrow, I worry " is it likely that some frequencies WILL NEVER be heard even if with repeated MAPpings, due to the physical location of the CI electrode? Guest guest
,, i learned a long time ago.. (less than one year),,,, trust the audie,,, even though I still do not understand all those mumbo jumbo that everyone else talks about... Your audie will fix things for you,,, as for your mapping,,, it is still avery narrow window, it will expand and you will hear more...
