Guest guest
TWhy is it some people have an easier time of getting bilateral CI compared to others, even though of us on private insurance This is a hard question because it has to deal with the bureaucracy that is in the health care field. Insurance companies get to dictate what you " need " vs your doctor or yourself. I understand that there has to be control but to tell someone that they don't need to hear out of two " ears " is just beyond my comprehension. They wouldn't tell someone that they only had to use one leg, or one arm, or even one eye would they?(well they just might) I mean we have waited like two months for our insurance to approve a medical stroller for Annika. She is too big for the one that she has had since she was a baby so it was time to upgrade. Since she needed some features that are not included on regular strollers we petitioned the insurance company in March for a medical stroller. We just received the approval yesterday. How stupid!!! It is not like Annika can walk where ever she wants to go. Her muscles just wear out and then this Mom gets to carry a 30 lb kiddo and about a 10 lb walker. Don't even get me started on these insurance companies(though yes I have to give mine credit for approving the bilateral in record time).
