The Enigma Of Foxy Brown's Hearing Loss - CI or No?

Hi all! The buzz about Foxy Brown's mysterious and miraculous? surgery that

" restored " her hearing is all about this: Was it a cochlear implant? Or what

was it anyway?

Having been intrigued by this story, from when it surfaced last fall, allow

now then a summary of notes and clips from many sources that will put the

story together a bit for you.

What we do know is:

Inga Marchaud, aka Foxy Brown, hip-hop rapper, 26, experienced sudden

hearing loss while recording her Black Rose. More specifically,

Sudden Sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL). Very rare. Can be caused by a

virus, AIED, ototoxic drugs, etc.

Foxy underwent a course of antibiotics and s steroids as is standard

treatment in such cases.

She admitted this publically last December.

During this time, she refused to wear hearing aids. Details on this and

whether she was a candidate for HAs at all are not to be found.

Foxy did say that during this period, she learned to lip-read..or speechread

as we prefer..

Beyond that, this story has become one with seemingly Foxy-imposed smoke and

mirrors, that eerily reminds me of a strikingly similar case, that of the

Rush, as in Limbaugh, who eventually, as all know, " Fixed " his SSNHL with a

Clarion CI at the House Ear Clinic in LA. NOBODY would ever fess-up and

state a final DX of the suspected genesis of Rushie's loss.. But we have a

good guess! ( Those nasty drugs, of course!) <G>

Foxy got a bit paranoid over this thing..I don't see her as a poster girl

for HL!

When a judge asked why Foxy and her lawyer were exchanging notes, the

lawyer, honest to the heart as all lawyers..., told his honor that Foxie had

been deaf for some time. ph Tacopina, Attorney at Law, was fired

shortly thereafter!

" Feisty Foxy " was in a Manhattan court for whomping on some cosmetician over

a manicure bill..

In father media reports, Foxy and her publicist have continued their

stonewall, in refusal to discuss her HL in any detail at all.

Pause for reflection: In a word: WHY?

When what a role model she could be... If only she would...

Getting back to the enigma, and the burning ?.. CI or No?

In latest releases it was stated that Foxy " Went from the operating room to

the recording studio " .

A most unusual post-op scenario for any surgical procedure... We will guess

one at the same House Ear Clinic that Rushie and a lot more have chosen in

LA.

And thus we may conclude, unless miracles really do happen, that Foxy Brown

DID NOT undergo CI surgery to " restore her hearing "

Out of the OR, into the limo, activate and map the processor, all in time to

rap as we arrive at the studio!

No! Nada. Nyet.

Not in this time-frame anyway!

With smoke and mirrors, hard to say what REALLY happened here.

But, the CI is not among the cards.

The visceral truth will be known some day, and I'll let you know when it

happens. Promise!
