I am curious...are some folks suggesting that moving

to slower speeds is progress in some way? That's the

way some of the posts read. I suppose that it's

possible that isn't what you mean, just that finding

the right speed for you is part of the progress.

Thank you for clarifying that, Mike. I kind of thought

that's what you meant, but I didn't want people to

mistakenly think that slower is better somehow. Of

course it would be great if we could all do well with

the slower speeds--between my optimal function at 1800

rate with Adro in most situations, plus my mildly

thicker than average skin flap and my long days of use

(about 16 hours a day) I'm getting two days per set of

three batteries! Oh well...

Thanks again Mike.

I do know that of course. I was just asking Mike

clarification of his comments, which he has provided.

All is well. :-)

Moving to slower speeds was progress for me but that doesn't mean it is

progress for everyone.

It is a very individual thing.

LOL very funny! :-)

I think what people mean it that finding the right speed is part of the

progress and that many times people do very well with slower speeds which

definately helps battery life. I also wonder if there is any opinions on

whether the longer ones has the CI the lower the speed can go?

Connie,

Yes I do understand that. You raise an interesting

question. Re: the cochlear Freedom have there been a

lot of people who found that they could benefit at

slower speeds as time goes on? I suppose the question

could be the same for other models and brands, but I

use the Freedom and wonder about that.

hi ,

Did the fast speed have more of a cartoonish sound than the slower

speed? How did it sound to you when they lowered the speed? Larry
