Guest guest
I had an exciting CI moment today! I heard two beeps while waiting for an elevator on the basement floor at school. While this wasn't the first time I heard them, what I thought I heard and what I actually heard were two completely different things. Let me explain... After I heard the beeps, I told Tigger to find the elevator, but she didn't move. I gave her the same command -- still no response. I asked someone nearby if the beeps I just heard were for the elevators on our floor. She said no -- they were for the elevators *above* us. I couldn't believe it! I've never been able to hear those beeps with hearing aids. Now with a CI, I not only heard them, but I heard them *from a distance*! Imagine that! <smile> Implanted: 12/22/04 Activated: 1/18/05 Nucleus 24 Contour Advance with 3G Deafblind/Postlingual BTE hearing aid user 20 years Severe-profound hearing loss 10 years

Guest guest
I am so happy for you! Talking on the phone - actually CONVERSING on the phone - is something I'm working toward before my 82 year old brain fades completely. Like you, I have sat in silence wishing I could join in too many times. Enjoy the sounds of the season, especially the laughter and the music. Harriet totally deaf, CI in right ear 2005. Guest guest
Thanks everyone! a, the model number of my phone is UX3300 and the carrier is U.S. Cellular. and you may be interested to know that this phone allows you to speak the name of the person you are calling. It can also verbally announce each number as it is pressed. Numbers 1-9 are slightly raised with a Braille dot on the number 5. Gayle...I can't wait to read all about your CI moments once you are activated!! When is your activation date? Guest guest
, I am beginning to think you are a UFO, as we see you but did we see you? Good to see you! LOL Is the phone actually VX3300? I did not find a UX model. This phone is listed as discontinued by both US Cellular and Verizon. LOL The voice dialing is almost standard and I do like that. Do stay in contact, ok? *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* UFO's are real.
