Guest guest
(Smile) I've had my implant for at least six months, and I don't feel any difference. I don't have anything sticking out or that I'm unbalanced. I look very much like I am before the implant. For the alarm going off, it didn't happen to me at all! I went to several heavily-guarded places like concerts and airports. The alarm didn't even go off when I walked through the security portals. If it ever happens, you'll have a card that you carry in your wallet or purse, and it will indicate that you have CI. You'll feel like a VIP and flash this card to a dumbest security guy, and he'll let you pass with a praise. :-) Kent C J <cjcj05@...> wrote: Stacie You will get used to having it on your ear. And as for the alarm going off in stores--as for myself the queen of shopping it has never happened. Connie --- Stacie <stacben@...> wrote: --------------------------------- That's cool, was it hard to get used to having it at the side of your head? I noticed the way i sit all the time, my hand propping at the side of my head, is that something i'm going to have to change? Also read on net something about CI causing alarm to go off in mall? could that happen? Hope not, lol. Stacie > > I never was comfortable with a HA because I hated anything in my ear. Guest guest
Kent Thank you, thank you! About the security, you just had me laughing and feeling good. Was your balance affected for few days after surgery? I can't walk a straight line without falling, always getting bruised from walking into walls, lol. Should I be extra careful during that few day? Thanks Stacie > > (Smile) > > I've had my implant for at least six months, and I don't feel any difference. I don't have anything sticking out or that I'm unbalanced. Guest guest
Hi Stacie, The balance was temporarily affected. I had to be careful and learn to balance myself for about a week or two. Guest guest
I love the Cross steries too, haven't read Harry Potter or even seen the movies, lol. Time has changed for canidates and I have thought about getting book on tape for rehab, be weird to have someone to read to me lol. Wish I didn't have all this time to wait, i'm too anxious and nervous, but it'll fly by quick. Thanks for the B-day wish! Guest guest
I'm excited and I just now thought of this, the day of my surgery will mark the 25th year of hearing loss. Weird, heh? lol I can't wait to find out what bilateral sounds is like. Even my mom and dad coming a long way with my neice to be with me, can't wait to see them. Told them they didn't need to come, but you know how parents are lol. Thanks for the wishes! Guest guest
If the folks are coming, make sure they know how to cook for you, and wait on you and all that. Be useful as well as ornamental. I just wanted to sleep after surgery, didn't want to feel like I had to be awake entertaining people. Slept so much, I never heard Princess died until 5 days AFTER it happened. Probably the last person on the planet to get that news. Enjoy being spoiled. Guest guest
Hey Duffy, My mail to you was returned.....unable to deliver. Anyway, as you can see, I want to help Stacie too. I will wait to hear from you. Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com. Hi Duff, I was so sorry to hear about the hard time Stacie is having. She is one remarkable kid. No one should have to endure what she has. I would like to do something to help her out and thought maybe others would too. Could we set up some sort of fund to help with her dogs expenses.......I just can't see her having to do without his help. Let me know what you think and if we should proceed, how.
