Guest guest
Hi , Indeed, they don't use rechargeables, having no place to recharge them. Did you ever attend the picnics at the Cleveland Zoo that Dr. Rizer organized for his patients and their families? Because I designed the tee shirts we were all given to wear. I realize many Amish will use sign language with their children, but they really prefer oralism. And when I did some clinical field practices in OT, I worked in the deaf classes at Trumbull county schools. And there were Amish children there. Happy New Year, The Original CI'ers Posted by: " " cindy4baskets@... luvinmyhonda Sat Dec 30, 2006 7:58 pm (PST) Wow, that is interesting, . I think it was around 1994 -1995 I taught an Amish family ASL in Warren. I wonder if the little girl was one of Dr. Rizer's patients. I remember her along with her immediate family all attended my class. The girl hid under the table most of the time. She also attended the deaf program in Warren. They were funny and very nice. They told me there was one other deaf family member. That is amazing that they would go for the CI.....well I suppose they won't be using the rechargeable batteries, huh?!
