Guest guest
It will be so fine to speak without asking for repeats, and even understand when someone behind you is speaking. You never realize how much you are struggling until you no longer have to. If you are a good lipreader, it will help you in noisy situations, too. I remember going to lunch with my audiologist, my implant surgeon and a nurse. It was a very noisy restaurant, and the waiter came up and told us the specials of the day. Everyone else ordered off the menu and I ordered one of the specials. After the waiter was gone, the implant surgeon asked me where I saw the thing I ordered. Didn't see it, the waiter told us it's today's special. And I heard it, and understood it, and NOBODY ELSE did. Ha ha. After that, when there were specials announced, THEY would ask ME what the specials were. A CI moment I treasure. the Original From: " Stacie " <stacben@...> Subject: Re: Stacie Thanks for the welcome and advice, I'll be checking them out right after i finish typing. My implant center is at WVU hospital. Everyone there is so nice and have me at ease there. I'll have a lot of questions, biggest decision of my life. Thanks Stacie
