Guest guest
Hi, While using the TextAloud, too often I used to find myself cheating - rathter than actually hear the highlighted word I started reading the text ahead that would put me few words ahead of the speaker. Changing the colors helped me overcome this. I set the 'NormalForeground' to the lightest gray and the 'HighlightBackground' to bright red. So all I see on screen is the word being spoken. Although once in a while when a short word is spoken too fast the highlighter skips that word, but my hearing with CI is good enough to pick up those short words. I haven't looked into MS Reader, but I am sure that tool would have similar color optins. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing, I learned something new. I'm reluctant to download " nagware. " How does it compare with Microsoft's Reader? Does TextAloud irritiatingly say aloud the punctuation marks like Reader? I don't want to hear the words " semicolon " , " period " , " comma " a gazillion times when I practice listening to a novel. Guest guest
Yes - it is a bit irritating. But for the most part I am satisfied. I see that these can be customozed. Also initially I had to get the pareameters set by my normal hearing son so the speech is less robotic. Aravind --- Lehfeldt <Lehfeldt@...> wrote: > Thanks for sharing, I learned something new.
